The cow-like Eland is the world's largest and slowest antelope. Eland browse rather than graze - they eat bushes, shrubs, twigs and leaves. They also love to eat fruit and to dig tubular roots from the ground.
Eland are farmed for their meat on large game farms which have the space to allow the animals to roam and live as they would naturally. Prized for their rich milk, tasty meat and leather hides, the Eland is a real African treasure and can be found depicted on rock art across the region.
