The Oryx is a large antelope found in Southern and Eastern Africa. Both male and female Oryx have long, thin pointed horns, which is why they are commonly called Sabre Antelope.
Oryx prefer hot and dry climates and do well in semi-arid landscapes. They feed on thick leaves and shrubs, wild melons, roots and thick grass.
With a lovely rich red colour and meat which is tender and juicy, like other wild and exotic meats, it is low in fat, high in nutrients and packed full of taste! It is best cooked rare or medium rare due to its low fat content.
